Delicius was founded in Parma (Italy) back in 1974, the heart of the Italian preserving traditions and Unesco City of Gastronomy.
Heir of a great tradition of production, in order to select the best raw materials, Delicius took on a multi plan strategy that allowed the company to grow in time. Delicius is now present in 5 mediterranean countries with its own structures and personnel.
Delicius immediately sensed the market’s demands and requirements, and promptly introduced innovative methods which managed to renew the whole market sector, such as the aluminium tin box with the tearable lid and the PANO lid with warranty seal.
Loyal to its innovative vocation, Delicius has in recent years brought on important changes and developments, such as the Double Anchovies, the “Rich Taste” Anchovy Paste, the grilled mackerel fillets of the Scomber japonicus refined species, and the latest grilled sardines!
We have a great passion: the sea. We have observed it, admired it and at times feared it!
We got to know the sea and its characteristics well over time, and now it has become part of our experience. We tried to pick up the secrets of the sea, respecting its integrity and putting great care and attention on the quality of the work we do.
We continued this journey following our philosophy: the passion for doing good things, simple things, yet with great care. We did so in a natural way, with love and accuracy.
On 8th June 2021 – World Oceans Day – Delicius published its 2020 Sustainability Report, through which the company declared its commitment and sustainability performances to the stakeholders.
The goal was about introducing a work method inspired by the SDGs of UN Agenda 2030 into the processes that was able to enhance the commitment, initiatives and internal and external comparison and lay the foundations to identify relevant reporting issues which helped us to measure ourselves, and set ever more ambitious goals.
Three main pillars: Sea, People, Community.The commitment is based on challenging objective like sea safeguard, starting from extraction, and the protection of sea environment, with a particular focus on plastic emergency.

The Cantabrian Sea overlooks the northern coast of Spain, in the area called FAO 27, and welcomes a variety of anchovies that differ from those found in other seas.
The Cantabrian Sea, cold, rich in plankton and with strong currents, offers the best environmental conditions for anchovies which develop particular characteristics here.
In order to survive the rigid temperatures of these waters, anchovies grow more and accumulate a greater reserve of fat.
